Transplantation and Organ Donation Awareness Fair on Sept. 6

transplantation centerOn Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., on the New Haven Green, Sukru Emre, MD, director of the Yale-New Haven Transplantation Center, will host a Transplantation and Organ Donation Awareness Fair. Join us to learn more about Yale-New Haven Hospital organ transplant services, register to be an organ donor and hear stories from living donors and transplant survivors. Talking About Cancer lecture series starts with genetic testing on Sept. 16

Talking About Cancer is a three-part lecture series presented by Yale Cancer Center and hosted by the New Haven Free Public Library. The first part of the lecture series "Genetic Testing: What Is It and Who Needs It?" will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. and includes a light supper. Participate in The Tommy Fund Family Day on Sept. 28

The Tommy Fund Family Day at the Connecticut Tennis Center in New Haven will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28. The fun run for kids begins at 10 a.m., and the 5K run and 2-mile walk starts at 10:30 a.m. The first 800 people to register will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt designed by Yale-New Haven Hospital pediatric oncology patients. Enjoy FREE kids activities, BBQ lunch and music, along with reflexology, body fat analysis, blood pressure screenings and chair massages at the Yale-New Haven tent. Register for the Hackers for Hearts golf tournament Oct. 6

The 9th Annual Hackers for Hearts golf tournament will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, at the New Haven Country Club in Hamden. lupusHackers for Hearts golf outing proceeds will be directed to the Heart Transplant Fund at Yale-New Haven Hospital. The funds raised directly benefit patients and help ease the financial burdens they may incur while receiving care. The cost of the tournament is $250; registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.
