Transplantation and Organ Donation Awareness Fair on Sept. 6

On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., on the New Haven Green, Sukru Emre, MD, director of the Yale-New Haven Transplantation Center, will host a Transplantation and Organ Donation Awareness Fair. Join us to learn more about Yale-New Haven Hospital organ transplant services, register to be an organ donor and hear stories from living donors and transplant survivors. Fall health lecture series at Shoreline Medical Center

Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center in Guilford is offering several lectures this fall for parents of young children, mature adults and the general public. The Friends of Ovarian Cancer Prevention and Early Detection talk Sept. 10

Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale Cancer Center will host a free health talk, "Ovarian Cancer: Prevention and Early Detection of the Disease," in Yale-New Haven Hospital's East Pavilion cafeteria on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Talking About Cancer lecture series starts with genetic testing on Sept. 16

Talking About Cancer is a three-part lecture series presented by Yale Cancer Center and hosted by the New Haven Free Public Library. The first part of the lecture series "Genetic Testing: What Is It and Who Needs It?" will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. and includes a light supper. "Help! I've Fallen and Can't Get Up" lecture on Sept. 18

The Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary kicks off its 2008 fall health education lecture series with "Help! I've Fallen and Can't Get Up" on Thursday, Sept. 18. The Friends of Yale-New Haven Hospital will host its annual luncheon from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at the New Haven Lawn Club. Participate in The Tommy Fund Family Day on Sept. 28

The Tommy Fund Family Day at the Connecticut Tennis Center in New Haven will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28. The fun run for kids begins at 10 a.m., and the 5K run and 2-mile walk starts at 10:30 a.m. The first 800 people to register will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt designed by Yale-New Haven Hospital pediatric oncology patients. Enjoy FREE kids activities, BBQ lunch and music, along with reflexology, body fat analysis, blood pressure screenings and chair massages at the Yale-New Haven tent. Walk for Lupus Now on Sept. 28

Yale-New Haven Hospital is proud to support the 4th Annual Walk for Lupus Now on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. Proceeds will help fund the Lupus Foundation of America — the nation's leading nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus, and providing support and services to all people affected by lupus. Register for the Hackers for Hearts golf tournament Oct. 6

The 9th Annual Hackers for Hearts golf tournament will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, at the New Haven Country Club in Hamden. lupus Hackers for Hearts golf outing proceeds will be directed to the Heart Transplant Fund at Yale-New Haven Hospital. The funds raised directly benefit patients and help ease the financial burdens they may incur while receiving care. The cost of the tournament is $250; registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. I am no authority of New Haven nor I own any bussiness in NH. But, I am a NewHavener, a resident who breaths the air of NewHaven, who visualizes the beauty, color, shape, size and texture of NewHaven. ]
It is a small city full of life to it, there are places and things to see, museums to visit, delicious and variety food to eat, the best pizza on earth at the state street, East Rock & West Rock parks and hiking trails, bike routes.
A panaromic view (see the pictures inside) of the city is enjoyable from the top of the East Rock hill (small mountain, a nice place to bike, job, walk or hanging with your family, friends, girl friend or whatever pleases). New Haven residents are friendly and nice, there is a historical museum at Whitney and near by the Yale's famous Peabody museum that invites childrens, family and everybody, right on the whitney avenue. Just walk further down the Whitney to the south is the downtown, but on to the north is the East Rock area, the town of Hamden bordering a beautiful reservoir...and More...!
